The pages above show my initial sketches of a scene I had an idea for my university thesis. You may notice that some panels look different as sometimes I work digitally and other times I use paper. Usually, I have big important moments in head first and once they’ve been drawn out, I find a way to link them together. You may have also noticed that a lot of these panels look different from the animatic above, these are my first and second passes, not exactly how I imagine the animatic to look but clear enough for me that I can understand what’s going on. I then put it into an art or storyboard software (this one is Storyboard Pro) to work on timing and pacing before removing, adding and polishing panels.
